For the first time, a grant is available for the Book Bound 2016 residential weekend retreat
The grant, worth £495, covers food, accommodation and tuition. It is intended to support a writer who could not otherwise afford to attend the retreat.
The Book Bound 2016 residential weekend takes place between 17 and 19 June at Oxon Hoath manor house in Kent. This year's retreat includes a keynote speech by publisher Sarah Odedina, intensive workshop sessions, an in-depth one to one for each writer, presentations of practical tips and a multi-agent panel with time for networking.
Applicants for the grant should follow the standard application procedure, which asks them to submit 4,000 words, a synopsis and a cover letter, also including a 250-word statement that explains their financial situation and why they need the grant.
The closing date for grant applications is 11 February.
Applications for the Book Bound weekend are open to writers of fiction from early readers (not picture books) through to young adults.
