Writing event: The Future of UK TV Writing

87df6f63-87b5-49b0-b39d-93f9a372c58a

The event at Northern Film School will look at the changing TV drama landscape and its implications for writers

As on-demand services like Netflix and Amazon influence the way audiences watch television, the panel discussion from the Northern Film School and Writers' Guild of Great Britain on 27 September will look at the future of TV writing in the UK and what the implications may be for up-and-coming TV writers. Will the American writers' room system be more used in the UK, and will that mean more opportunities for writers?

Speakers will include writer and producer Dominic Minghella and writers Sophie Petzal and Vinay Patel. The discussion will be chaired by Lisa Holdsworth, whose TV writing credits include Emmerdale and Midsomer Murders.

The Future of Television Writing will take place at the Northern Film School at Leeds Beckett University on 26 September at 6.30pm. Tickets cost £12.
