IdeasTap, which is closing on 2 June, is going out in style, with a competition and creative funding for which writers may apply
IdeasTap was founded and funded by the Peter de Haan Charitable Trust in 2008, and now has to close because the Trust itself is running out of funding. During its existence it has given away more than £2.3 million in funding, benefitting 62,000 people. IdeasTap has almost 220,000 members. Wanting to close with 'a bang, not a whimper,' two final opportunities have been launched:
The Wrap-up Fund offers sixteen pots of £500 to fund projects in any creative discipline that are near completion. The closing date is 1 May.
• The final IdeasTap Editor's Brief competiton has the theme of 'Endings.' Creative work is invited in audio/visual, creative writing and visual art/photography categories, with prizes of £250, £100 and five x £50 in each category. Writing submissions should be no longer than 1,000 words. The closing date is 8 May.
To apply for the Wrap-up Fund or enter the Editor's Brief competition, writers should be IdeasTap members.
