Janice worked as a legal asistant in the City of London for seven years, and left her corporate career to concentrate on her writing. She has an MA in writing from the University of East Anglia and has written three plays for BBC Radio 4.

Her Bruntwood-winning Three Birds, about three home-alone children, will be developed at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester with the view to being staged as a full production.
