The Award supports an emerging writer over 40 yet to publish a full-length work
The recipient of the Next Chapter Award will receive a bursary of £2,000, 9 months of mentoring from a writer or industry professional, a two-week writing retreat at Moniack Mhor, training in PR, social media and performance, and the opportunity to showcase work to publishers and agents.
The Award is open to novelists, poets, short story writers, authors of narrative non-fiction and children's authors. To be eligible, writers must be over 40, based in Scotland, and must not have published a novel, narrative non-fiction book or collection of stories or poems. Self-published and digitally published authors may apply.
The closing date is 19 September.
