The anthology of winners of the Sophie King Prize for romantic short fiction includes the winning story, by WM subscriber Alyson Hilbourne
Alyson, whose story Hot Chocolate Hero won The Sophie King Prize, said: 'It is a great honour to have my story selected as winner as I'm sure there were many fine stories submitted. My story of romance was inspired during an unwilling jog in the rain, and hopefully goes to show that even the worst experiences can have a silver lining.'
Subscribers Mary Lally and Yvonne Walus are also amongst the writers of the ten stories selected for the anthology.
'There's great competition in both love and writing,' said Sophie King. 'That's why it's hard to find the right partner – and to choose a winning entry. Many stood out in different ways but in the end, I picked those that surprised me and also left a lovely warm feeling. A bit like a love affair, really.'
Love Is All You Need is published by Corazon Books. 'We were thrilled by the high standard of entries to the competition and felt that an anthology was a great way to introduce readers to some of this fantastic new fiction,' said Corazon's Ian Skillikorn.
