The winner of the Daily Mail's fourth literary talent prize will be offered publication and agent representation
In addition to the £20,000 cash prize, which is an advance on publication, the winning writer will be published by Penguin Random House and offered representation by Luigi Bonomi of LBA Books. The runner up may be offered representation by Luigi Bonomi.
Entries may be first novels of any genre for adult readers except saga, science fiction and fantasy. Novels for children are not accepted. Writers entering the competition must not have previously published, or self published, a novel either in print or as an ebook.
To enter, send the first 3,000 words and a 600-word synopsis by post. Entrants must be able to deliver their completed novel by the end of January 2020 if they win.
The competition is free to enter. Writers may enter only one novel.
The closing date is 14 June.
