The Royal Society of Literature is asking people to vote for the second novel they like best from a list of 141
The winning title will be announced on 5 April, the same day that the RSL announces the winner of its 2017 Encore Award for the best second novel of the year.
With second novels notoriously presenting a challenge for writers, the RSL hopes the poll will invite debate. Did people know that a particular book was its author's second? What do readers make of second novels? Are there books you would have liked to have seen included on the list? The listed titles came from an open call for suggestions in January.
