The winning writer will receive £2,000 to spend on a trip of their choice
The competition is for 500-word travel feature, based on personal experience, on one of three themes:
• Close to home
• The most beautiful place in the world
• My best day on Earth
The winning entry will be awarded a voucher worth £2,000 (or equivalent local currency) for a trip with GapYear.com, a bundle of Rough Guides books and publication of their work online. Two runner-up entries will also be featured online, and the writers will get a bundle of Rough Guides books. Last year's competition winner, Steph Dyson, has become a regular Rough Guides contributor.
The Rough Guides Travel Writing Competition is free to enter, and closes on 1 May.
