The competition for unpublished travel writers is inviting entries on the theme 'I'd love to go back'
The competition is being run by Bradt Travel Guides in association with the Edward Standford Travel Writing Awards.
Enter original, unpublished travel writing between 600 and 800 words on the 'I'd love to go back theme,' about the places you'd love to return to when travel opens up again, or the place that draws you back. Entries must be true stories, based on the writer's personal experience.
Three finalists will be included in a new anthology to be published by Bradt Guides in 2021, and invited to attend the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards (which may be virtual). The overall winner will get the title of New Travel Writer of the Year, their piece will be published in Wexas' Traveller magazine and they will receive a £100 Bradt voucher.
Entry is restricted to unpublished travel writers (ie someone who has not been paid for a travel-related piece published either in print or online).
The entry fee is £10.
The closing date is 21 December.
