Highlighting the importance of reading, libraries and their supporters across the UK will be running events in celebration of their local libraries.
National Libraries Day is the culmination of a week of pro-library activity, and marks a year of campaigns against proposed library closures. So far, 32 libraries have closed and 48 mobile libraries have been shut down.
