The regional theatre has launched a new competition for dramatic monologues
The inaugural National Octagon Prize is for 40-minute dramatic monologues on any theme or genre, from horror to children's storytelling.
The winning entry will be performed on stage with a professional cast at the Octagon Theatre in a production directed by the theatre's artistic director, Elizabeth Newman.
Over the coming years the theatre will adapt the prize to ensure the Octagon's audience is presented with a diverse range of on-stage experiences.
Submit monlogies for the first National Oxygen Prize by 28 February.
