The new issue of WM is out today!

ab56c32d-4e8d-489a-a594-dd202ef7e188

In the December issue, in shops now, Joanne Harris casts a seasonal spell as she talks about writing and magic

We're always interested in what this fascinating author does, and it was a treat to talk to her about her new title A Pocketful of Crows – a darkly stunning magical tale that is the perfect book to curl up with in a room lit by candles.

Elsewhere in the new issue, we  show you how to free your mind and discover new creative paths to explore in your writing. Story consultant Jeff Lyons takes down the destructive myths that stop you achieving your creative writing dreams. There's a plan of action to polish your prose to pro levels so you can turn your messy manuscript into a clean draft, and pages of practical writing advice, exercises, creative inspiration, competitions to enter and opportunities to get your work published.

The December issue is in shops from today, and if you want it on your smartphone or tablet, you can get the digital edition (and the print edition!) here.

We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we've enjoyed putting it all together for you – happy reading, and happy writing!
