The £2,500 international prize is for unpublished novels for children and young adults
The Bath Children's Novel Award is a competition for unpublished and independently published children's novelists. The 2019 judge is literary agent Lauren Gardner at Bell Moreton Lomax, who will be pick the winner from a shortlist chosen by a team of junior judges aged 7 to 17.
To enter, send the first 5,000 words of a children's or YA novel in any genre, plus a one-page synopsis. The winner will receive £2,500 and the shortlist prize is manuscript feedback from the panel of junior judges plus agent introductions. The author of the most promising longlisted title will receive an online place on Cornerstones' Edit Your Novel the Professional Way course, worth £1,800.
The entry fee is £25.
The closing date is 17 November.
