Filotico Arts is running a development programme for up to eight emerging storytellers interested in reimagining myths, folklore and fairy tales

The selected storytellers will take part in a one-day workshop on 19 November with Cairo-born storyteller Chirine El Ansary, whose work includes researching and retelling stories from The One Thousand and One Nights. Chirine will offer each storyteller a 30-minute development session and ongoing email support to develop and refine their story. The selected storytellers will also receive a complimentary ticket to Magic and Power in Alf Layla Wa Layla: The Thousand and One Nights at Rich Mix on 18 November with Chirine and Marina Warner.

To apply, chose a tale from mythology or folklore from around the world and write 200-300 words on why you have chosen this story and why you want to tell it your way.

Also send 100 words on your own story and why you would benefit from this scheme.
