The competition winner will get £1,000 and be commissioned to write further stories for InterAct Reading Service
Entries are invited of short stories of up to 1,000 words in any genre.
The competition is hosted by InterAct Reading Service, a charity that supports stroke recovery and offers readings as part of stroke patients' rehabilitation.
The short story competition winner will be chosen by Ruth Rendell, and commissioned to write four further stories.
The closing date is 29 October, which is World Stroke Awareness Day.
