The Poetry Society has put a shout out for inspirational young performance poets to submit work on the theme of identity to SLAMbassadors UK, the country's only online youth slam

Anyone between 12 and 18 with a poem, spoken world piece, rap, chant, rant or rhyme with identity as its theme can enter.

Poets should write their identity-based poem or rap, film themselves performing the work, register their entry online and send the video to The Poetry Society. Entry forms and full details are available on the website. The deadline is 9 December.

Now in its 10th year, SLAMbassadors UK will be sending out established performance poets and rappers to schools, youth clubs and theatres in London, Manchester, Yorkshire, Liverpool, Scotland and Leicester in the quest to find new voices that can express in rhyme what it means to be a young person living in contemporary Britain.
