The Long Story, Short literary journal for 'stories that take their time' is open for submissions
The Long Story, Short is edited by Jennifer Matthews and publishes one story each month. It accepts short stories that are over 4,000 words (there is no upper limit, as long as the writer considers it to be a short story, not a novella or an extract from a longer work).
Stories for children are not accepted, and to be considered, genre fiction should have literary merit. There are two submission periods each year.
There is no payment for accepted authors.
Submissions will be accepted until 31 October.
