Your chance to submit a Doctor Who story idea for audio production as a Big Finish Short Trips Adventure

The Paul Spragg Memorial Short Trips Opportunity is run in honour of The Big Finish's production officer, who inspired great affection, not least with the writers he kept in touch with who emailed in with ideas. The aim is to encourage new writing talent, and the winner's story will be published by The Big Finish. The writer will receive the same fee as any other Big Finish writer.

To enter, send a single-page story synopsis (approx 500 words) and a single page consisting of the opening of the story (approx 500 words). Because of The Big Finish's licence with the BBC, there are certain limitations on what Doctor Who elements can be included (ie, no Jodie Whittaker's Doctor, no creation of new companions, no established monsters or established Doctor Who characters). Writers entering the competition must not have written for The Big Finish before.

The winner will be officially contracted to deliver a 5,000-word Short Trips story.

Entry is free. Writers may send one entry only.

The closing date is 30 June.
