Enter feel-good fiction for this year's competition, which has the theme 'The Next Chapter'

Every year, bestselling author Val Wood invites writers to enter her free-to-enter creative writing competition.

• The international open prize is for uplifting stories up to 2,000 words. There is a first prize of £100, a second prize of £50 and a runner-up prize of £25.

• There is a new category this year – The Yorkshire Prize. To enter this category, writers must live in Yorkshire. The theme is the Yorkshire coast. Enter short stories up to 2,000 words. The prizes are £100, £50 and £25.

The winning entries will be published on Val Wood's website.
