The world's richest prize for a single short story is open for entries to this year's competition
The winning writer will receive £30,000 and five shortlisted writers will each get £1,000.
The competition is for original, unpublished stories up to 6,000 words. To be eligible to enter, writers must have a previous record of publication in creative writing.
New writers have been previously shortlisted for the prize alongside Pulitzer Prize-winners.
The closing date is 26 September.
