Twelve winners will be invited to read their work, or have it read by an actor, at the Solstice Shorts Literature and Music Festival on 21 December. The festival, a celebration of National Short Story Day, will take place at West Greenwich Library and the Royal Observatory, Greenwich.
The chosen stories will also be published in an anthology alongside stories from the judges: Imogen Robertson, Anita Sethi, Alison Moore and Robert Shearman. All winners will also receive 'a small silly trophy' and a selection of books from Arachne Press.
Entries should be original, unpublished fiction between 1,700 and 2,200 words. The theme of 'time' may be interpreted in any way the writer pleases.
There is a fee of £5 for entry.
The closing date is 31 October.
