Glimmer Train's quarterly short story competition offers publication and big cash prizes
The competition, which is open to all writers, is for short stories up to 3,000 words that have not appeared in any print publication.
The first prize is $1,500, publication in Glimmer Train Stories, and 20 copies of that issue.
The second prize is $500, or if accepted for publication, $700 and ten copies.
The third prize is $300, or if accepted for publication, $700 and ten copies.
There is a reading fee of $15 per story.
The next deadline is 31 October.
