Short stories are invited from writers aged 18-30 on the theme of sustainable development
Stories may be up to 2,500 words and must be by writers aged 18-30 from any of the 43 countries of the Euro-Mediterranean area. Stories for A Sea of Words must be original and unpublished, and may be written in any of the official languages of the participating countries. Fifteen stories will be selected for publication.
The call for submissions for the literary contest comes from IEMed, the European Insititute of the Mediterranean.
The authors of the selected stories will be invited to an awards ceremony in Barcelona in October, with travel, accommodation and meals being provided.
The closing date is 31 May.
