Londonist is running a competition to find a new fairy tale for a modern London
The Fairytales of the City contest is linked to Other Worlds, the British Academy's Literature Week in May, which will be themed on folk and fairy tales.
The writer of the winning story will receive a set of the Folio Society's editions of classic fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen and Charles Perrault. The best four entries will be published online by Londonist and be printed in an exclusive Literature Week publication distributed at British Academy Literature Week events.
Submissions for the Fairytale of the City competition should be original unpublished fairy tales set in London or influenced by the city. Stories must be under 1,000 words.
The competition is free to enter. Writers may enter one story only.
The closing date is 28 February.
