The competition is for original screenplays, in any genre, for a film, TV drama or pilot. Judges come from Sky, the BBC, Channel 4, HBO Europe, ITV and leading independents.

Five finalists will all win meetings with three of the judges – where possible, the judges of their choice. Subsequently, a Grand Prize Winner will be announced. Screenwriting Goldmine founder, writer and script editor Phil Gladwin (pictured), will brief all the finalists so they can make the most of their meetings.

All entries must be scripts between 45 and 125 pages for film or television. To enter, writers must not have earned more than £12,000 from film or TV writing in the previous five years.

To enter, writers must be subscribers to Open Door, which costs £7.50 per month. The first entry is free, and subsequent entries cost £42.

The closing date to enter the Screenwriting Goldmine Awards is 31 January.
