The winner will receive £1,000 and their play will be produced by Red Dragonfly Productions
The Taking Flight competition is part of Red Dragonfly's New Writing Festival.
It invites submissions from new and emerging writers from British East and South-East Asian background or heritage of ideas that can be developed into a full-length, one-hour play. Plays should have minimal setting and a cast of no more than four actors.
To enter, send a full description of the idea for a play.
Up to ten selected playwrights will be invited on a free one-day workshop with playwright and dramaturg Ross Ericson. All ten will have continuing mentoring and script development before a winner is announced.
Entry is free.
The closing date is 31 January 2022.
