BBC Radio has teamed up with BBC Writersroom for the second year to launch a new writing award for radio drama
The BBC Writer's Prize is looking for new, bold, original radio drama to commission across the Radio 3 and 4 networks.
The BBC Writer's Prize is for original, surprising multi-character dramas between 45 and 75 minutes. Monologues and adaptations are not eligible.
Last year three writers won commissions. This year, the prizes will be opportunities for Radio 3 or Radio 4 drama commissions. The majority of opportunities are for the Radio 4 Afternoon Drama slot, which is for 45-minute scripts.
The BBC Writer's Prize is open to any writer as long as the work submitted has not previously been produced and is not currently in development.
Submissions open on 15 September and close on 29 September.
