The competition, from Write Angles - Southend International Playwriting Festival, is for plays to be staged at next year's festival
Submissions will be considered in three categories: comedy, drama and plays by young writers (aged 16-25).
Plays may be in any genre except musicals, and should be up to 45 minutes in length.
The best plays will be presented as rehearsed readings at Write Angles - Southend International Playwriting Festival in 2015. There is a prize of £250 for the overall winner.
There is a fee of £5 per entry.
The closing date is 10 October.
