Satirical magazine Private Eye is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary by publishing Private Eye: The First 50 Years in September

Written by Private Eye journo Adam Macqueen, the book is an A-Z of the people who have contributed towards the bi-weekly magazine's half century of satire since it was founded in 1961. It contains previously unseen archive material and exclusive interviews with past and preent contributors, and includes entries on Paul Cook, Paul Foot, Craig Brown, Richard Ingrams, Willie Rushton, Auberon Waugh, Francis Ween and current editor Ian Hislop.
The 384-page book is published on 12 September and costs £25.

Adam Macqueen will be in conversation about the book with Richard Ingrams at the Woodstock Literary Festival on 17 September and at the Soho Literary Festival on 24 September. Ian Hislop will be appearing at the Cheltenham Literary Festival on 16 October. Adam will be appearing at the V&A Lecture Theatre on 26 October; this event is in support of the exhibition Private Eye: The First 50 Years which runs at the V&A between October and January next year.
