The Arts Council has suspended funding to the Poetry Society following a series of resignations and a vote of no confidence at Friday's EGM
The Poetry Society had been awarded an additional £100,000 in funding from the Arts Council from April 2012. But following a run of managerial in-fighting and resignations which culminated in a vote of no confidence in the board of trustees at the extraordinary general meeting (EGM) last Friday, the 102 year-old organisation's Arts Council quarterly grant of £78,499 has been put 'into abeyance'.
