The annual contest has a first prize of £200
Now in its 43rd year, the competition run by the Salopean Poetry Society is for original, unpublished poems in any form. The prizes are £200, £100 and £75, and there is a special prize of £75 for the best humorous poem. Three consolation prizes of £30 will be awarded, and there will also be additional prizes for poems chosen by the editor of Salopeot magazine. Winners and runners up will all be published in the winter 2019 issue of Salopeot.
The entry fee is £4 per poem, £12 for four and £12 for six.
All entries must be made by post, sending two copies of each poem.
The closing date is 30 September.
