The annual contest from Munster Literature Centre has a €2,000 first prize

The Gregory O'Donoghue International Poetry Competition is for single poems up to 40 lines. Poems may be on any subject and in any style. All entries must be original, unpublished and unbroadcast.

The first prize is €2,000, a featured reading at the Cork International Poetry Festival including a four-night hotel stay with full board, publication in Southword and being featured on the Southword Poetry Podcast. the second prize is €500 and publication in Southword, and the third prize is €250 and publication in Southword. Ten runners up will each get €50 and publication.

The entry fee is €7 per poem or €30 for a batch of five.

The closing date is 30 November.
