Win a £1,000 first prize for nature-themed poetry

The Nature and Place Poetry Competition is run by The Rialto in association with the RSPB, Birdlife International and the Cambridge Conservation Initiative.

The competition is for original, unpublished poems up to 40 lines on the nature and place theme, which may be widely interpreted. There are prizes of £1,000, £500 and £250, and an additional prize of a personal tour of Wicken Fen with ecologist and naturalist Nick Davies, the author of Cuckoo: Cheating by Nature. The judge is Daljit Nagra.

Writers may submit up to six poems in one batch. The entry fee for the first poem is £7 and £4 for any subsequent poems in the same batch.
