The theme of this year's contest is Finding the Words
Freedom from Torture is inviting entries for its biennial poetry competitition, which is part of its literary festival. Winners will be invited to read their poems at a live event at the London Library.
To enter, send original poems on the theme, of any length. This year's judges are eminent author Alan Hollingsworth and poet and playwright Inua Ellams.
The first prize is a mentoring session with Alan Hollinghurst. Amongst other prizes the winning poem will be published in quartlery newsletter The Survivor and all winners will have their work published on Freedom from Torture's website.
Entry is a £5 donation to Freedom from Torture to support creative group projects for survivors of torture.
The closing date is 28 October.
