Win £1,000 in the biennial poetry competition for Sussex writers

There is a first prize of £1,000 and a second of £250. The next-placed writer will get a free place on the Work, Write, Live creative writing course at the University of Brighton. The first prize-winner in the student competition gets £150 and there are four highly commended prizes of £25.

To enter, send original, unpublished poems on any theme or subject, up to 40 lines.

The entry fee is £6 per poem. Young Student entry (aged up to 30 and attending courses) is free.

The closing date is 20 October.
