The competition has a first prize of £500 in the adult category

There is a second prize of £250, and three £100 third prizes. Anne Stewart will judge the adult category.

In the junior category (7-11, 12-16) the prizes are £75, £50 and £25. Katherine Gallagher (pictured) will judge the junior category.

The Barnet Poetry Prize is for poems on any theme up to 35 lines. All poems must be original and unpublished.

The entry fee is £5 per adult entry and £1 per junior entry.

The closing date is 16 November.
