The competition for the best poem for children has a €1,000 prize

The annual Caterpillar Poetry Prize is for the best poem for children aged 7-11. It's awarded for a single poem of any length and on any subject.

The winner will receive £1,000 plus a week at the Circle of Misse in France. The runner up prizes are £500 and £250 and the winning poems will be published in the Irish Times online. The judge is Kate Wakeling.

All entries must be original and unpublished.

The entry fee is €15 per poem.

The closing date is 31 March.
