The competition, organised by the Ealing Autumn Festival, invites poems on the theme of Magna Carta - human rights and democracy
In the adult category, there is a first prize of £200, and further prizes of £100 and £50. In the junior category, the prizes are £85, £45 and £20.
The Magna Carta Poetry Competition 2015, which invites original, unpublished poems up to 40 lines about freedom, human rights and democracy, will be judged by award-winning poet George Szirtes, who came to the UK at the age of eight as a refugee fleeing the political regime in Hungary.
The closing date is 4 September.
