The new contest is for critical writing on women's poetry

The inaugural Women Poetry Prize will be given for a critical essay that engages with the poetry of women of colour.

The winner will have their work published in Women: a cultural review and they will recieve a prize of £500. Shortlisted entries may be published in the journal. Judges include Dr Sandeep Parmar, the Women editorial team and Dr Mary Jean Chan. This year the prize is sponsored by the Centre for New and International Writing, University of Liverpool.

Enter essays between 5,000 and 7,000 words.

Entry is free.

The closing date is 22 July 2022.
