The international contest sponsored by Literature Wales is inviting entries
The Wales Poetry Award from Poetry Wales magazine invites entries of single poems from writers wordwide.
The first prize is £500 and a residential course or retreat at Literature Wales' Ty Newydd Writing Centre, and a one-year subscription to, and publication in, Poetry Wales. The second and third prizes are £100 and £50 plus a Poetry Wales subscription and publication. There will be ten further highly commended prizes. The judge is Jeremy Dixon.
Enter original, unpublished poems up to 70 lines. Writers may submit up to five poems.
The entry fee is £5 per poem. Entry is free for writers from low-income backgrounds.
The closing date is 17 February.
