The Ruskin Prize for Poetry is for original, unpublished poems up to 40 lines on any subject. The inaugural competition, which is one of two new contests run by the Roehampton Poetry Centre at the University of Roehampton, will be judged by Professor David Harsent, chair of the Roehampton Poetry Centre.
The Ruskin Prize for Poetry has a first prize of £300, and two runners-up prizes of £150.
There is a £5 fee for entry. The closing date is 1 November.
The other contest is The Roehampton Prize. It is for single collections published between April 2013 and March 2014 by poets based in the UK. Submissions must be made by publishers.
