Win a £250 prize for a poem using the Latin phrase 'de rarum natura' as its starting point

The phrase translates as 'on the nature of things.' Poets entering The Latin Programme Poetry Prize should take the phrase as a starting point and use it in any way they like – the phrase does not need to appear in the finished poem.

The competition, which is The Latin Programme's first poetry contest, has a £250 prize and will be judged by Deanna Rodger, Blake Morrison and Ella Hickson. Enter original, unpublished poems up to 40 lines.

The entry fee is £12 per poem.
