The annual contest is for poetry in translation
The Stephen Spender Prize is an annual contest for poetry in translation, with an open category for adutls as well as two categories for young poets.
The open category is for English translations of poems in any language (up to 60 lines) plus a commentary in English no longer than 300 words. The prizes are £1,000, 500 and £250. The entry fee is £9 per translated poem.
The Romanian Spotlight prize is for young poets aged 18 and under, 14 and under and 10 and under. Entrants are invited to translate a poem from a selection curated by judge Gabi Reigh. Winners in each category will receive £100.
The Youth Prize is for poets aged 18 and under (prize is £150 for each of three winenrs), 14 and under (£100 for each of three winners) and 10 and under (£75 for each of three winners). Enter translations into English of published poems up to 60 lines, plus a commentary under 300 words.
The closing date is 15 July.
