The Save the Frogs! poetry competition is being by American amphibian conservation charity Save the Frogs! to help raise awareness of the fact that frogs are one of the most threatened group of animals on the planet, with up to 200 species having become extinct since 1979.
There is a cash prize of $100 for the Grand Prize Winner, who will be invited to be a judge in next year's competition. Other prizes of 'frog cash' will be offered, which can be exchanged for Save the Frogs! merchandise.
Poets may submit up to two poems. There is no entry fee, but donations to the charity are welcomed.
The closing date is 17 October. So hop to it, WM poets.
