Write Minds is inviting entries of poems on mental health themes
Write Minds, a Nottingham-based organisation that promotes creative self-expression for individuals with issues of self-harm, suicide and other mental health difficulties, is compiling an anthology of poems on themes of mental health issues, suicide and self-harm, and invites entries.
The top 20 poems will be published in a collection that seeks to give an insight into the world 'often locked inside someone's brain'. The collection will be published on 1 March 2016 to celebrate Self Harm Awareness Day.
The Madder Than We Look competition is open to anyone who has encountered mental health issues, self harm or suicide, whether through personal experience or that of someone close to them.
Poems must be original and unpublished, and may be up to 50 lines. There is an entry fee of £3 for the first poem and £1.50 for up to four more poems.
The closing date is 3 January.
