The competition for emerging poets of colour has three equal prizes of £1,000 and publication with Bloodaxe Books
The James Berry Poetry Prize from Newcastle Centre for the Literary Arts is aimed at young and emerging poets of colour .
Three equal winners will each receive £1,000 and mentoring to help them develop their work, followed by publication of a debut collection with Bloodaxe Books.
The prize is open to poets of colour who have not yet published a debut collection. Special consideration will be given to LGBTQI+ and disabled poets and poets from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds.
To enter, send a personal statement, a writing CV and 10-12 pages of poems.
Entry is free.
The closing date is 31 July.
