The Margaret Carey scholarships and the new Bent Agency BAME scholarships are open for submissions

The scholarships cover the cost of attendance at Seriously Funny, the SCBWI British Isles Conference 2017 at Winchester University on 25 and 26 November. The scholarships also include a one-to-one manuscript critique, hotel accommodation and a grant towards travel to Winchester.

The Margaret Carey conference scholarships are for a young adult or middle grade fiction writer and a picture book author or illustrator.

The new Bent Agency BAME scholarship is for a BAME writer of middle grade or young adult fiction.

To apply for the Margaret Carey scholarships, writers and illustrators must be SCBWI members. Writers do not need to be SCBWI members to apply for the Bent Agency BAME scholarship.

Applicants for the BAME scholarship must be unagented. Applicants for all scholarships can be unpublished, self-published or may previously have been traditionally published.
