Submit unpublished literary novels up to 14 May for the chance of a £10,000 book deal

The Borough Press publishing director Susie Doore has joined forces with literary agent Cathryn Summerhayes of Curtis Brown to find a literary novel with page-turning qualities and passionate, intelligent writing. The successful author will be offered a £10,000 contract with The Borough Press and representation by Cathryn.

The submission window is for unpublished authors who have completed a novel of at least 70,000 words. Submitting authors should be unagented. Submit the first three chapters or 50 pages (up to 10,000 words), a 500-word synopsis, a one-paragraph summary of the book, a short list of the main characters and an author biography.

The Borough Press's editors will read all submissions and request complete manuscripts from writers whose submissions they want to review further.
