A new literary festival with a difference, Notes and Letters is a series of themed events that celebrates the connections between words and music

Designed specially for Kings Place arts space in London's Kings Cross, Notes and Letters has been curated by Amanda Hopkinson and Geraldine D'Amico. It will take place between 7 and 9 October.

The festival launches with the London premiere of the spoken-word drama by Jonathan Coe (pictured), Say Hi to the Rivers and the Mountains, featuring live music from The High Llamas. Amongst the highlights of the festival weekend are Will Self on the parallels between the symphony and the novel; A L Kennedy on finding the voice; David Crystal on the many voices of English, and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies on the myths that inspire him.
